8. Scope of the Contract Awarded:

a.) Facilitate capacity building for the 39 Maya villages on the broader theme of climate change and climate change mitigation strategies focused on REDD+.

b.) Coordinate and facilitate the effective participation of representatives of the 39 Maya communities in the 5 components of REDD+ readiness preparation phase.

c.) Strengthen the awareness among the Maya leaders with a specific focus on women on climate change, impacts of climate change (especially on indigenous peoples) and the drivers of climate change.

d.) Engage in a dialogue with Maya leaders and women on REDD+ and determine the inclusion of the Maya people (indigenous peoples) in all REDD+ Processes and in particular, the Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA).
