Feasibility Study for Concessions in Protected Areas

 
PACT is interested in identifying a team of Consultants or Consulting Firm to undertake a feasibility assessment for the implementation of concession arrangements with in the BNPAS. The objectives of this consultancy are to evaluate the existing legal, technical, socio-economic and operational frameworks governing concession arrangements, develop recommendations for improvements in efficiency and expansion of benefits from concessions at the regulatory and operational levels, and to determine the viability of implementing these recommendations to enhance the existing framework for concessions in protected areas. The duration of the assignment is expected to be for a period of approximately sixteen (16) weeks.

Qualifications requirements include:
The Consulting Team/ Firm is expected to include at maximum four (4) members with expertise in the following or related areas:

  • Financial/ Business Development
  • Environmental Economics
  • Protected Areas Planning and Development
  • Legal and Institutional Analysis
    • – Minimum of a Graduate Degree in a field related to area of expertise;
      – Relevant work experience of at least five (8) years in area of expertise;
      – Professional experience performing feasibility studies and/or other similar initiatives, protected areas planning and development and previous knowledge/experience in nature-based non-extractive operations in the Belize National Protected Areas System would be strong asset.
