EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – Sustainable Development Specialist
The Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT), as Belize’s national Direct Access Entity to the Green Climate Fund (GCF), is seeking an Individual Consultant to support the development of Belize’s 2025 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Progress Report.
This consultancy is being implemented under the GCF Readiness project focused on strengthening national capacity for climate finance, sustainable development monitoring, and evidence-based planning. The assignment will update and build on Belize’s 2024 Voluntary National Review (VNR) by analyzing newly available datasets and strengthening national awareness and ownership of SDG progress.
The consultancy will be conducted over a 2-month period, totaling 10 consultancy days.
Key Responsibilities
Review the 2024 Voluntary National Review, SDG datasets, and relevant national planning documents
Analyze updated SDG indicators using verified national datasets (Census 2022, MICS 7, sector data 2023–2024)
Prepare the 2025 SDG Progress Report, including narratives, data visualizations, SDG traffic lights, and recommendations
Develop presentations and support the national SDG validation workshop
Design and deliver materials for a national SDG sensitization workshop, including questionnaires and assessment reporting
Incorporate stakeholder feedback and submit final approved deliverables
What We’re Looking For
Master’s degree in Sustainable Development or a related field
At least 5 years of professional experience in sustainable development, policy, or related processes
Minimum 3 years’ experience in SDG-related analysis, M&E, or indicator-based reporting at national or sectoral level
Demonstrated experience in SDG data analysis, reporting, and visualization
Experience supporting workshops, training, or sensitization activities
Strong understanding of Belize’s development context and climate priorities (asset)
