Community Engagement Santa Familia RC School
May 25, 2018 –Last week PACT visited the Santa Familia Roman Catholic Primary School in Santa Familia Village, Cayo District. We were at the school as part of education week and made a presentation on PACT and the Protected Areas of Belize to over 100 students from the lower and upper divisions. We are very happy to have been able to share and interact with these bright and energetic children. We thank teacher Nasaly Calix and others at the school for the invitation. Special thanks and kudos to Monica Coe and Luwin Tzib, two of our PACT scholars at the University of Belize, for participating and leading parts of the presentation.
PACT was formally established in January 1996 with the passing of the Protected Areas Conservation Trust Act, No. 15 of 1995, creating the institution as a Statutory Board. PACT contributes to the effective management of Belize’s National Protected Areas System (NPAS) through strategic partnerships and high impact investments. The PACT is managed by a Board of Directors that is comprised of Government agencies, non-government organizations and individual experts.
