PACT logoThe Symbolism of the PACT logo

A close look at the design inside the letter “A” of the PACT logo shows three distinct elements, a Harpy Eagle in flight, a Mahogany Tree, and the Profile of a Human Face.

These three elements were chosen to represent the connection between man and the environment. Showing this connection symbolizes PACT’s focus of directing funding resources to support and enable stakeholders to work together for the management of Belize’s natural resources and protected areas.

The Harpy Eagle

In the design, the Harpy Eagle represents all wildlife. The Eagle is celebrated as a creature of vision, bravery and strength. It has also come to symbolize the life threatening effects of environmental pollution, habitat loss, wildlife persecution and man’s clash with nature.

The Mahogany Tree

Plant life is represented by the majestic Mahogany Tree, which is the National Tree of Belize. It also signifies the economic wealth of the country.

The Human Profile

The Profile of the Human Face represents the stakeholders, in particular the communities, the organizations, our partnerships and networks and indeed the people of Belize. PACT supports the involvement of large and small organizations to implement programs and projects which enhance the quality of life of the Belizean people.

The Color Green

Abundant in nature, green signifies life, growth, renewal, health and the environment.
